The L’Occitane Group has unveiled a start-up incubator in Marseille, France.
The French beauty company has selected 12 cosmetics and wellbeing start-ups to join the studio, called Obratori, as part of a 23-month programme.
"The L'Occitane Group has always been keen to initiate entrepreneurship and perpetual renewal, it's in our DNA," said the company’s CEO Reinold Geiger.
"The creation of start-ups around the world is an economic revolution whose consequences will be seen very quickly, they have become the most important actors in the entrepreneurial system."
Located within the centre of Marseille’s innovation district, the fledgling companies are said to benefit from the business-dedicated workspace; the support of the internal resources of Obratori; a network of experts and mentors; and the ecosystem of the L’Occitane Group.
"These are tailor-made programmes. A start-up may need research expertise, marketing expertise [or] international visibility," added Ingo Dauer, General Manager at Obratori.
